President Sammy Barmer
called the meeting to order at 7pm.

Nikki made a motion to
approve minutes from the December 2004 meeting. Linda seconded. Minutes were
approved as written.
Treasurer’s Report
Given by Sammy Barmer in
Michelle Harris’ absence.
Dues collections are going
well.

Landscaping
Given by Sammy Barmer.
The Christmas lights are
still up on the front entrance but will be taken down.
Clubhouse & Pool
Given by Sammy Barmer.
Bathrooms are fixed. The
gate is hard to open and needs to be repaired.
Social Events
Given by Sammy Barmer.
Luminary event was
successful with about 80% of residents participating. We may make some changes
for next year. There were suggestions to do the entrance and clubhouse as well.
Covenants
Given by Sammy Barmer.
In regards to parking in the
street, AHOA has sent out letters to violators this week.
A resident said that a red
jeep parks in the street in section 4 by the sinkhole.
There is still a trailer in
the driveway on Brighton Court. Sammy will call resident and ask them to move
it.
More letters are being sent
to residents who need to repair or repaint their mailboxes. The letters will go
out this week.
Old Business

Renderings for the back
entrance are due the 15th.
Ballots for board elections
will be distributed this week.
Steve and Sammy said the
meeting with Larry Swales regarding speeding and reckless driving went well.
The county will post “limited sight” signs. Rankin County will hire a new
officer this month to monitor traffic in subdivisions. He will have a device
that tracks speed. Sammy commented it was a very “positive” meeting.
The entrances going from
Kings Ridge to Farmington Station are probably another year from being
completed.
New Business

Ad fees for website will be
$30 per quarter and $90 per year. So far the website has had 480 hits.
Linda said she is getting
information from the National Neighborhood watch program. She will conduct some
meeting before setting up Avalon’s Neighborhood Watch. She needs volunteers to
be block captains.
A resident asked what would
happen to the retention ponds when Landmark got finished building. Sammy will
check on this.
A resident asked about the
second pool. Shaun Joyner said that she had called various pool companies and
that Tarri Frazier had also called to get some quotes and information. Both
were told that the AHOA needs to have a pool shape and size in mind before they
can get quotes.
